ABOUT STEFANIE

Stefanie’s journey started in 2013 from the need to find recovery and care for her own body. The physicality of being a sommelier in New York City’s top restaurants pushed scoliosis discomfort to a disruptive level, pushing Stefanie to specialized yoga for scoliosis. Here, Stefanie learned how to care for the parasympathetic nervous system, recover from and manage pain, meditate, and develop work-life boundaries from the physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding hospitality industry.

Since that first class over ten years ago, Stefanie has developed a near-daily home yoga and meditation practice and trained in the Reiki, Thai Bodywork, and Wùo Taï modalities.

Each session is approached with curiosity and empathy, blending the different modalities to provide personalized care. She believes that Reiki and Bodywork are gifts to be shared. Along with providing mental and physical relief, the practices offer aid in overall recovery and wellness for hospitality professionals, athletes, parents, medical professionals, and every human who feels called to go deeper.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Reiki?

  • Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work developed by Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki comes from two words: Rei (“higher power”) and Ki (“life energy”). It is a natural method of spiritual, energetic healing. Reiki clears and blocks negative energies while inviting positive energies to receive abundance and peace.

  • A session is done on a massage table, fully clothed.

What is Wùo Taï?

  • Wùo Taï is a branch of osteopathy coined by Roland Combes. Inspired by bodywork and dance, Roland moved classical osteopathy work to the floor, creating the “Dance of the Fascias",” or “Osteo-Dance.”

  • Wùo comes from “Wu” (circle) and “Ou” (even or double), and Taï meaning “as big as the outside,” roughly translating to “between two circles.”

  • Sessions are practiced on a firm mat on the floor, fully clothed.

What style of bodywork do you offer?

  • Rooted in Thai Yoga, Stefanie combines osteopathy teachings, gestures from Wùo Taï to stretch, press, and articulate muscles, joints, and fascia. The benefits of regular sessions include improved flexibility, breathing, posture, circulation, and relief from headaches, sciatica, and back and neck pain.

  • Sessions are practiced on a firm mat on the floor, fully clothed.

How long is each session?

  • Reiki sessions range from 30- to 60 minutes.

  • Bodywork sessions range from 60- to 90 minutes.

  • Longer sessions are available upon request.

What should I wear?

  • Please wear comfortable clothing made to move, free from snaps, buttons, and zippers. It’s good to have layers in case of body temperature shifts during the session. Blankets are available if needed.

What should I do after my session?

  • We just did a lot of work! Take some time to integrate the experience. Drink plenty of water. Have a warming cup of tea. Journal.

  • Take a walk in the park. Take a hot shower or bath. Nourish your body with healthy foods. Say kind things to yourself, and others.

Payment/Sliding Scale

  • Reiki sessions are $70 for 30-minutes, $130 for 60-minutes. Bodywork sessions are $120 for 60-minutes, $150 for 90-minutes.

  • If this is prohibitive, let’s discuss what works for you. No one will be turned away due to a lack of funds.
